1. Different prices: ordinary lead-acid battery costs low, so price is cheap, some businesses will use lead-acid battery instead of gel battery, because there is no difference on appearance, so it’s difficult to distinguish, the main difference is that not all areas are suitable for using ordinary lead-acid batteries, consumer will gradually find the deficiency of lead-acid batteries in use (such as battery’s capacity in low temperature environment will reduced as the temperature drops).
2. Different service life: lead acid is generally used for 3 years, colloids can be used for 5 years.
3. Different operating temperatures: lead-acid battery operating temperature always -18℃ to 40℃ (when less than 0℃, the capacity will drop sharply), gel battery operating temperature always -40℃to 50℃, so we won’t recommend to use ordinary lead-acid battery in cold or large temperature difference places.
4. Different safety: lead-acid battery will have acid leakage, colloidal battery won’t leak acid.
5. Battery capacity recovery performance is different: colloidal battery has good recovery ability, lead-acid battery has poor recovery performance, and it’s easy to decay6. The storage time without charge is different: ordinary lead-acid battery needs charging and discharging maintenance for 3 months, while colloidal battery can be extended to 8 months.
