Common faults of batteries and their main causes (2)

Common faults of batteries and their main causes (2):

1. Grid corrosion

Phenomenon: Measure some cells or the whole of the battery without voltage or low voltage, and check that the internal grid of the battery is brittle, broken, or completely broken.

Causes: Overcharging caused by high charging current, high charging voltage, or long-term use under high temperature conditions accelerates the corrosion rate of the grid.

2. Thermal runaway

Phenomenon: battery bulge

Causes: (1) The battery is less acidic; (2) The charging voltage is too high; (3) The charging current is too large; (4) There is no protection for discharge (over-discharge).

3. Leaking Acid

Phenomenon: there is residual acid on the battery cover, or there is acid outside the battery shell

Reasons for formation: (1) The battery shell is broken; (possibly due to impact) (2) The battery is inverted.
